My recommendation is to haul freight only in the regions where freight is paying well. Currently this means staying away from FL and CA, to name two. DAT publishes inbound/outload load ratios per state. They do charge for this. FL has lots of inbound freight and low outbound freight most of the year, which translates to cheap freight going out.
