{"text":"Just wanted to share what I tend to buy - mostly at Aldi’s - and utilizing Instacart, it’s definitely worth while being a truck driver, to eat healthier. Let’s be honest; the foods t truck stops are not intended to make us healthy; they are designed to take our money. So my list includes:\n\n- Cinnamon raisin and plain bagels\n- cinnamon raisin bread\n- 5 cans of tuna\n- 2 cans of spam (yes, I know all about it 😕)\n- peanut butter\n- best wheat bread you can find\n- cherry tomatoes\n- 5 avocados\n- wheat germ (if available)\n- oatmeal \n- pickles\n- chocolate protein granola (sprinkle on top of oatmeal)\n- bananas, or any other fruits you can obtain\n- energy drinks (aldis are $1.25/cans with 200mg cf)\n- and instant coffee. It all comes to about 50-75/order\n\nCompare to buying the BS at the truck stops - including the monster drinks which will kill you, I would say I’m staying further away from diabetes, cholesterol, high blood pressure. I don’t have a refrigerator- yet. Compared to eating 3 meals a day at truck stops, I think I’m saving in the long run, yes that is a factor too, how much we spend per week eating at truck stops and buying the coffee every day. Feel free to comment or if you have opinions on ways I can improve, let me know. Thanks guys","videos":"[]","link":"{}","pics":"[]","canComment":true,"externalShare":false} |
