{"replyToPid":0,"replyTo":"","text":"Your best bet is to have a talk with your boss, and see if you can convince him otherwise. lots of trucks are factory equipped with power inverters, they're perfectly safe when installed and used correctly.\n\nOutside of that, you're probably gonna want to look for a 12 volt coffee maker that plugs into the cigarette lighter receptacle at the front of the truck, although those 12 volt coffee makers aren't particularly known for working all that well. \n\nAnother option, would be to get an inverter that's on the smaller side, with some battery cables with clamps that can be temporarily connected to your batteries outside the truck while you run the coffee maker, then disconnected and hidden away somewhere when not in use...\n\nAnother option would be one of those \"portable generators\" which is basically just a large lithium battery with a built in inverter that you could plug a coffee maker into. ironically more dangerous than just having an inverter on board, but your boss would likely be none the wiser. you'll have to size it depending on how often you can get somewhere to plug it in and charge it, unless you get one that's capable of charging with a 12 volt cigarette lighter plug, so keep that in mind.\n\nAnother option, a favorite of mine, would be to use an old fashioned percolator on a portable gas camping stove, alot of truck stops even sell the butane canisters that they use. you could also just do it the old old fashioned way in a sauce pan, although most people are not like myself, and dislike that sort of unfiltered coffee. I like it myself, and actually made it that way despite having a coffee maker in my truck...\n\nJust be careful and exercise common sense. I hate to tell someone to just go for it, considering people have varying levels of expertise. that being said, my advice to you is; when in doubt, don't.
