Only cross border hauling is allowed. If u have dual Canadian-U.S. citizenship maybe some exemptions apply.. but you’ll need to consult a U.S. Immigration Officer first.

","text":"Dual citizenship regarding the driver has nothing to do with it. Neither Canadian or American drivers need duel citizenship to enter either country. Just a Valid passport if you're American to be able to get back into the US. It has everything to do with operating authority and which country you (as an O/O) or carrier are domiciled in. The same carrier can have operating authority in both countries as a domiciled carrier in either country, not just have the licensing to travel and conduct cross-border commerce between the two. But most carriers are not domiciled in both countries. But a driver can still deliver freight from their home country to the host country if their vehicles have the necessary permits to drive in the host country. Assuming, of course, that the load is bonded if not clearing customs at the border itself. But from what I hear, en-route bonding requirements are not as common anymore. Customs freight clearing is mostly taking place at the Customs compounds near each POE on the Canadian side when delivering in Canada."} |
