{"text":"Hi,\n\nWhat you guys do on driving steep downhill in Canadian rocky mountains roads. \n\nUse engine brake or slowly use the paddle brakes? \n\nSometimes engine brakes are not allowed, and truck speedup going downhill with scary curves sometimes ahead of you.\n\nNeed safety tips.\n\nThanks","videos":"[]","link":"{}","pics":"[]","canComment":true,"externalShare":false}

Let the engine brakes do the work, if something happens in front of you like rocks, wildlife etc then you can go light on brake pedal and come to a safe stop if needed. If it is an auto transmission make sure it is in manual so it doesn't try to shift down a gear or 2 at once causing a potential jacknife. Was told long time ago on long steep grades if you use the foot brake more than twice you are going too fast, esp with heavy tridem or super train weights. No harm in going slow, your life and/or somebody elses may depend on it. I am from BC so hope this helps.","replyToPid":0}

1248444 发表于 2023-04-17 20:56:04 it's the dynamic brakes that are more enforced, if it's muffled then they have no legal grounds to stop you, the dynamic brakes cause heavy vibration and could cause landslides or avalanches, not always the case but it's a possibility

","text":"Those being regen dpf models they should be quiet. Unless that's all deleted and straight piped? You should be able to use anywhere. \nI don't like volvos but they have an exhaust piston brake in the exhaust pipe after the turbo. I really like that idea. I wish I could find one for my detroit would be quieter than my Jacob's engine brake.","replyToPid":473958}
