","text":"The thing that is gonna save you down a decline is learning how to use your jake brake. I hardly use my brakes going down a mountain. I make a game out of it for myself. I like to see how many times I touch my breaks and try to break my score the next time. Ha. Watch YouTube videos. Ask the old timers while eating. You will be fine. It will become nothing. {"replyTo":"","text":"If you use TP navigation it’ll notify you of a downhill but not as you’re setting a route. Mountains are pretty much everywhere although some are steeper than others. Same gear or one lower to descend and don’t be intimidated by the super truckers hot rodding it down the hill. Don’t grab a gear as you crest the hill- this is where especially if you’re heavy you want to DROP another gear.70 from wheat ridge to 15 in Utah is steep grades and sharp curves. US-6/191 all through Utah, CO, NM is steep grades. NM 551, I-17 in AZ,15&5 in CA, I-10&8 in AZ, all of NV and pretty much the entire west coast is mountains. I-10 in TX west of San Antonio has a 7% grade for like 3/4 miles but it’s still a steep grade. OH, IN, IL, WI, NE is mostly flat but to get there you’re going through the mountains. The NE is full of steep grades- VT is nothing BUT steep grades as are VA & WVa, NC& SC, TN. You’d basically only be able to run Florida, AL(southern AL), MS & LA to avoid steep grades. As others have already mentioned, it’s part of the job. With time it’ll get easier and remember this if nothing else: you can take a mountain downgrade too slow a billion times, but you’ll only do it ONCE too fast. When in doubt, drop a gear. Take my advice or leave it. I have 5M miles under my belt and just shy of 30 years. That wisdom was passed on to me as a rookie and never failed me ❤️ happy trucking enjoy the scenery ","replyToPid":0}

{"replyTo":"","text":"You should try our Manic 5 dam in Quebec Canada. It up Baie Comeau on the 389. 11% up to 18% . you climb it around 4 miles. Down it a TGV High speed 🚄 train.\nI understand your worries, not always easy. Good luck. \n\nNormally with a gps it give you a warning 1 miles before but I don't know if we can avoid it.\n\nLike if you travel in Pennsylvania it a mountains area, Colorado, Wyoming county forest too.","replyToPid":0}
