{"text":"I’m in the recovery fleet of my company, and currently sleeping on I-80 in Wyoming. Heading into Laramie, there is a 5% grade in the mountains for 5 miles. The issue is, this truck I’ve recovered has no working cruise control, cant switch to manual, and the gears auto shift upward as it gains speed. My company won’t route me back east to get this fixed. They just repeated “drive for conditions; wait till it’s safe”. If I have to wait till it’s safe I’d be waiting till spring! I’m not sure what to do as cruise control and jake braking causes jackknifes on snowy roads. What should I do about this? Would first or second gear jake brake help? It’s either a 2018-19 freightliner. And to make things worse, this truck has been in an accident before!","videos":"[]","link":"{}","pics":"[{\"description\":\"\",\"height\":1512.0,\"name\":\"\",\"url\":\" \",\"width\":2016.0}]","canComment":true,"externalShare":false} |
