Most mega carriers have accounts set up with them but for the ones that don’t you must get a pass. It’s a 450 dollar ticket if you don’t have one. The states NM, KY, and NY have “extra” taxes (on top of the IFTA tax) that are based on weight and distance (aka, weight-distance taxes). The IFTA tax is based on distance and (truck-only) gallons purchased in the states traveled. The lower your MPGs, the more IFTA tax you gotta pay. The job of IFTA is to distribute the IFTA tax evenly among the states you traveled."}
