A/C Question

{"text":"Does anyone have any suggestions on how to block off the 2 Air Conditioner lines that run from the firewall back to the sleeper bunk on a 2006 Freightshaker?   I'm losing freon pretty fast from those lines and its pretty dam hot out!   Someone mentioned cutting the lines and crimping them over which I have no problem with, but I can't see that holding the pressure!  Any suggestions would be much appreciated!  Thanks and be safe out there.. Could end up spending more money trying to block them than just replacing them. If  the evaporator has a hole in it you probably can find one cheap since it an 06. "}

{"replyTo":"","text":"Whatever you do, you will need a recharge of the freon. You’ve already lost a lot of it and however you blocked the lines you will lose even more when you do that. I’d try crimping them tight for at least an inch or more and then cut them off and bend them back on themselves and solder the ends. That’s how they are sealed on household A/C and refrigeration units.\n\nMost likely you will end up spending less if you just replace the lines if indeed they have rotted and are the problem. You will have bunk A/C then to help with these hot days ","replyToPid":0}
