{"replyTo":"","text":"In the real world, according to DAT website (they post average rates for thousands of loads every week) line haul is typically 1.70 to 2.50 roughly depending on freight. So, let’s say you average $2.00 a mile minus 20% equals $1.60. Subtract insurance, plates, fuel, maintenance, tax, cost of truck, etc. and you’re looking at a pretty dismal figure. I’m guessing about .80 cents a mile net. Now company trucks make up to .70 cents a mile I’ve seen although I’m sure it’s tough to find. So in conclusion, I ask is it worth .10 cents a mile to take on all that risk? Carriers aren’t doing you any favors imo. Knowledge is power and I want you to be the carrier if you’re going to be running load board freight and you keep the 20%. What are they giving you besides stress and headaches? Or find a niche mar","replyToPid":0} |
