Allow me to add, company makes a suggested route, and get a bit bent if you don't follow it. I for one, and would recommend to any driver, buy a professonal grade commercial Altas. Check the suggested route and plan your best route. if the company route is wrong, and many times it is. call dispatch and have them change it. Explain why and any reasonable company will make the route adjustments. ","text":"I started driving tractor trailers in 2000. Know all about the atlases. They are good to get point a to point b. But no atlas can get you from the interstate to the customer. And I remember all too well, having to call customers for directions. Sometimes they are right, and sometimes wrong. And I remember driving through cities at 2am at 5mph with a flashlight out the window, to try and see road signs so I wouldn’t miss a turn, and building numbers, so I wouldn’t miss the entrance. Thanks, but no thanks. LOL. I’ll always carry my atlas in case I get in a bind and the gps is out. But I’ll use the gps lol. ","replyToPid":413436} |
