{"text":"I was working with Crst and was paired up with a driver from hell\n\nI'm starting as a driver so I thought I would feel better driving with someone.  \n\nbecause he told me was had more experience than me I tried to be super nice and in return I would learn something from him.  big mistake\n\nOur first load was 38000 pounds and he refused to weight because he said that he could tell that was ok so play along and said ok but I was worried all the way to delivery point\n\nOn the 2nd load the paperwork said that  was almost 40000  pounds.  fortunately there was a scale in the premises and told him that we should  weigh the load.  The weight on the back axles was 37000 pounds and he said it was ok and I told him that it was not ok we got  into an argument and I told him that I would not drive an overload truck. I had to explain that the front had to be 12000 the 2nd and 3rd axle could not be more than 34000 pounds he got mad and call the dispatcher and the dispatcher agree with me\n\nAt each shift change he would actually got mad at me because I would register the pre trip on the Qualcomm. I did not always did a full checked but I would register the pre trip in Qualcomm and have something to eat while waiting for the time to go by.  He never registered the pre trips but will get infuriated because I did.  we almost got into physical confrontation more than once.  honestly it was a little intimadating he is exactly 100 pounds heavier than me.\n\nOne night he thought I was sleeping and he opened the cortains and I felt him looking at me and he started laughing and I  felt his breath so close to me and he whispered you fucken dick.  I swear it freaked me out so bad that I was not able to sleep for the rest of the trip.  \n\nI was so afraid for him to leave stranded so I would pee in a bottle while I was on the back and when driving I pee on the side of the freeway.  I would only go to buy coffee only when there was a truck in front of us while fueling.\n\nthis is  the best part at least for me but I swear it was not intentional.  A couple of hours before completing the trip I stopped at a rest area to pee and stretch my legs.  I ran to the restroom and  pee and ran back to the truck and continue driving.  about an hour later I was so close to my house and I actually had less driving time than the delivery point so I thought it was best for me to get out off the truck.  while driving I yelled his name so he would wake up and he was not waking up I called him on the phone and he was not answering his phone. all I could think off that he was being an ass.  my phone ringed and when I answered this woman was asking questions about my codriver and asking me to pull over and check the back and just when I was going to hang up on her she said you left your codriver in the rest area.\n\nI was afraid but I could not stop laughing somehow I got even with out trying.  the lady told me to meet her at a intersection so I could pick him up.  he was so mad that no words were coming out of his mouth only sounds like a cow having a calf.  later he told me to get my stuff because he would not drive with me again.  i actually had the balls to tell him that he actually thought I wanted to drive with him again.\n\nthis is a true story and just wanted to share it. like I said it was not intentional that I left him in the rest area although he accused me of doing it because I did not like him. \n","videos":"[]","link":"{}","pics":"[]","canComment":true,"externalShare":false}

{"replyToPid":0,"replyTo":"","text":"A.  Front axle doesn't have to be under 12k.  most states go by either tire rating or axle limit (stated on sticker normally in the door).  Schools only say 12k because that's all that's left out of 80k when the drives and tandems are at 34k.\n\nB.  When you get experience, you can often get away with not scaling certain heavy loads.  If you have a whole trailer of the same product and scale it the first time to see where the tandems need to be, well then, following times getting that same product you'll already know where you need the tandems.  Or if the truck has a suspension gauge on the drive axles, that makes it even easier.\n\nC. Depending on where you were going, over 34k might actually be fine.  I just ran a load from the MO/IN boarder to Denver and was 35k on my tandems.  But MO allows up to 36k on NON interstate highways so I just had to stay off i70, Kansas weigh stations are allowed to give up to 1,500lb leeway so you can be up to 35,500 (but the scales were closed when I went through), and Colorado's limit is 36k on interstates and 40k on NON-interstates.\n\n\nanyway, sounds like you made the right choice getting off the truck.  his bad habits will catch up with him and you don't want to be on the truck when they do as you might end up taking some of the blame.  good luck."}

But he also taught me that I could not drive with another grown man there's just not enough space in any truck for that.
