A truck uses about a gallon of fuel per hour. $20000/$3 a gallon is 6666 gallons a year. You were idling 125 hours a week? Also, you’re not getting 8.4 mpg on a 3406 Cat. I’ve driven them. I drive 60-65 mph and know how to get mileage. I don’t idle truck. Etc etc. And as I said. You are lying if you say you are doing 8.4. Especially an average! And I’m not picking on Cat engines. They were great for some people. I personally have never owned one because of the very high cost of repair and terrible fuel economy. Another driver posted on this same thread that the BEST he got was 6.2. If you’re going to tell BS stories, be prepared to be called out. Also, the article did say $20,000.00/year. Not 15k. And how can you tell wear and tear figures? As best as I can tell by your numbers you’re estimating wear and tear to be about $15,000.00/year? $75,000.00 every 5 years? "}
