How do you make sure that your kids know that you are still involved in their life?

Mom always worked too but they made sure that we just had good quality time together when everyone was home. Lots of laughs, actual board games, playing outside, sometimes a movie and restaurant dinner, the shooting range, or maybe just an old movie on t.v...my boys have never thought that I'm a lousy mom, and I pretty much did the same with them. Their dad had passed away when they were fairly young, made it a little tough for a while, but they're both fine young men now. I just always let them know that they have love and support. Try not to worry too much. They'll understand you love em, even if you can't see them every day","replyToPid":0}

My Dad traveled a great deal ... he would write me letters. I still have all those letters. He would share his thoughts, plans me was making just for me when he was going be home. he would tell me how proud he was of me. It's the small things that make the biggest impact. {"replyTo":"","text":"I have to agree. It might be hard because of time differences, for example last week when I was in Washington state my family is in Virginia but video calls are awesome. Call every day let them know where you are. My son has my wife buy him a map of the USA and he marks all the places on the map when I call. Also when I take home time I spend every minute I can with them. ","replyToPid":0}
