Everyone has a different situation and professional goals. We can’t tell you what you want, just what it’s like financially. It can be great being your own boss and doing things your way or it could be a net sum zero. Generally speaking, it’s upwards of 1.25$ per mile to operate a class 8 semi truck for over 100k miles annually. The low side would be .80 cents a mile roughly. This varies depending on what your contract is to your carrier and if your truck is paid off. So if you’re not grossing 1.75$ I’d say wait until you find a company with that type of contract. There probably aren’t very many. That’s the tough part. Getting a loan to buy a truck and driving it is easy compared to finding a good contract. Every company wants you as a driver but are they willing to pay a decent amount? That is the question ","replyToPid":295887} |
