Connecting inter-axel locking differential

I would like to at least have a locking inter axel. {"replyTo":"","text":"Huge job. Both rears hafta be changed. Front drive shaft (behind  the center bearing needs to be changed, the  Rear driveshaft will hafta be built. Switch and wiring needs to be installed, dummy light (that it's engaged) would hafta be activated, or an on dash light would hafta be installed. \nDepending on the truck, you may need to \"tell\" your ECM it's there, or possibly upgrade it. \nEasiest way to do it, is to get the parts from a donor truck with the same exact length. Expect to pay...\n2000$ for rears, front drive shaft and rear drive shaft. \n(you need everything from the center bearing to the rear rear differential. A new center bearing. \n4-5k for then rears to be rebuilt (from donor truck, you will want them rebuilt and set up with a 3.55 ratio)\n3000-4000 to have it installed, including the dash hardware.\n10,000$. {"replyTo":"","text":"ok lets back up a bit , cam is particularly correct.  \n\n1- you don't need both sets of gears , you only need to match the ratio with what is in the truck.  there should be a tag on the axle with the ratio \n\n2- the truck should already have the light in the dash . you will need to install the switch and plumb the air lines . \n\n3. the ecm has nothing to do with the rears \n\n4. i agree with used parts but the prices can or should be a lot less . I'd figure 2500 all in if you do the work \n\nmy question is do you really need the power divider? \na few years back big fleets and some owner operators started deleting the gears in one rear . they hardly used it and deleting it will save fuel and weight.  Eaton actually makes a kit to delete it . i personally use mine a lot driving in and out of fields and around old feed lots .","replyToPid":0}
