{"text":"I'm not sure why they chose younger drivers although I kind of understand military. my oldest son didn't start driving a car until 20 and my youngest is only now thinking about it at 20 also. When I was a dispatcher for my brother's company I didnt drive. i worked from home. I spent a few years riding a bus at my kids learned it's not hard to get around without a vehicle. It would also lower the life average life expectancy to add younger drivers without addressing the end life age of 62. We'll also look like we are dying even younger. it lowers averages. it was a weird decision. I dont think they care if they hurt people. bot even our children. ","text":"I think if your 18 and you join the military and are deployed when you come back you should be able to walk in a bar have beer...I own trucks insurance companies dictate who you can and will you cannot hire...I would take somebody with a couple speeding tickets but got 20 years experience to at a job but the insurance company will not insure them because of the speeding tickets.... so therefore they would take a driver fresh out of school because there's no point or csas on that license","replyToPid":273900}

Come on parents wake up and quit being so surprised when kids cant help themselves it’s mostly your fault cause you tell them oh you got this mental illness and oh you got this ailment. Come on people wake up and teach your kids to work. Has nothing to do with age anymore. I know some kids that are 18 that can back a truck a lot better than some of these obese 45 year old swift driver or use any company for that matter. We need more truck drivers and less steering wheel holders. {"replyTo":"","text":"I taught myself how to drive a semi in Kuwait/Iraq. Sgt threw me some keys and an 8point grid map said get these rounds there by 1800hrs or else. Without military background,  schools need to do a better job of training drivers to get 18yr olds ready for the responsibility of commanding 80k of a loaded truck. Right now most graduate and dont know how to change tandems to balance load or what a regen is.","replyToPid":0}
