","text":"Sorry to say I’ll stick with my otr. Sure there’s local job where I live but They only pay 20 bucks an hour. As otr I’m making as of last year 38.52 an hour. My company pays by the miles it’s just when they do vacation pay it’s broken down by the hour. ","replyToPid":261778}

Also Insurance has changed quite a bit for new drivers compared to when I started. \n\nIf I was a new driver, I would hit my local shops, offer  starting in the warhouse, yard mule trailers around then wait for a driver to call off and hopefully get a shot to run a route. \n\nThis all falls back to being familiar with your equipment. The more you are, the less chance of a accident to yourself or anyone else. Also if its slow, you can always ask to train with regular senior driver.  \n\nDo you already have your CDL? Emdorsments?
