They can and will search at truckstops. That said, they aren't generally out to mess with you, but I don't chance it. By the by, you are also responsible if a rider brings something illegal on. If DOT does a surprise inspection and sees any evidence of you drinking in your truck even on a 34 hr restart you can lose your CDL. Call an Uber, Lyft, or cab and go to a bar. I haven’t checked in a while, but it used to be a minimum of 4 hrs from having a drink to operating a CMV. Check the books. "}

Just buy what you can handle then you won’t have to worry about keeping it in the truck. Just be careful whatever you do, the family probably prefers you come home in 1 piece. ","replyToPid":0}

{"replyTo":"","text":"I've been told no alcohol whatsoever in the truck. Most companies have a zero tolerance even if your not drinking it...fired. I have had a few in the truck before. Usually at a terminal. I hid them, drank them, pissed in a gallon jug so i didnt have to see anyone and didnt have to get out of the truck. It's your call but for sure only buy what your gonna drink. If your going to drink I'd do it on a 34 for sure that's the only time I have but hey it's your call. Stay safe.","replyToPid":0}
