{"text":"I would be very surprised if they are paid much beyond their regular job salaries as truckers.\n \nOriginal Productions (the company that produces Ice Road Truckers) has a long history of paying people very little to be on TV, which is frankly easy to do, because a lot of people want to be on TV. And Original pays them, not the History Channel (unless HC has reached out to do outside overall deals with any of the character, which is possible, and even then would be maybe 5k-10k per full season, given the range of budgets these kinds of shows have).\n \nEven back in the day at Original when we were doing seasons 2 and 3 of Biker Build Off - not only did the builders not get paid anything at all, they were out of pocket for all materials and building costs. The prodco paid zero dollars for all that.\n \nThe upshot there was that the builders gained reputation and higher sales values for their bikes.\n \nOut of all the reality shows I've worked on, only one had paid cast - and it was a Hollywood \"star\" family - who individually were still paid very low 4 figures per ep.\n \nSo while it's a guess, I'd be very surprised if the truckers made more than a few thousand dollars over the \"season\" of filming, which is probably around 5-8 weeks.\n","videos":"[]","link":"{}","pics":"[]","canComment":true}
