I'm out for extended periods 3 or 6 months . if I happen to go thru home I'll stop and visit my friends.  but most of my friends are busy with family kids etc.. I do have a great group of people whom I talk to daily... plus I got the 2 pups.   I booked my 5 day break for Aug then go back out till Feb
