Once, more than twenty years ago, my co driver cracked one of his ribs on Interstate 20 Westbound in Louisiana, because I drove through a pothole on I-20 and it bounced him a foot or more straight up in the sleeper berth and he bottomed out on that cheap Freightliner mattress and cracked a rib on the plywood sheet under the mattress. He went to a doctor and had an X-ray which proved that he had a fractured rib. A second mattress probably would have prevented that. And, a second mattress definitely will help you sleep better on rough roads. ","text":"We used to have single bunk, flat top sleeper berths. That means only one bunk, and you cannot stand up straight. When the truck is parked between loads, somebody has to sleep either on the floor or outside on the hood (weather permitting, of course). And, for $0.20 cents per mile.","replyToPid":157182} |
