Temporary Weight Limits On I-45, I-20 Interchanges

{"text":"The TxDOT (Texas Department of Transportation) recently put in place weight limits on three of the four direct connector ramps at the interchanges of Interstate 45 (I-45) at Interstate 20 (I-20) south of Dallas.\n\n\nWeight limits are limited to:\n\n\n20,000 lbs. on a single axle\n34,000 lbs. on a tandem axle group\n\n\nThere is no gross vehicle weight limit posted.\n\n\nThese weight limits apply to:\n\n\nAll permit loads\nMobile cranes\nConcrete trucks\nRecycle trucks\nEV class of fire engines (typically only used at airports)\nContainer trucks\nWell service trucks\nGarbage trucks\n\n\nIt is illegal for trucks to ignore the new, temporary weight limitations. {"replyTo":"","text":"IKR? I love TP - ain’t gonna lie - bc it finally feels like a specific “home” on the inter webs for us. \n\nAnd it couldn’t have come any sooner imo. I learn more from other drivers at truck stops and have to rely on them in dire emergencies like the “polar vortex blizzard” that stranded every truck for 2 days on I- 80 a few months ago. We had no idea it was even headed our way and this would have been amazing to have been able to keep each other up to date with closures, potential closures, etc. \n\nI think this industry gets an overall bad rep,but as a former middle school teacher (12 years) and cocktail waitress in a high end gentlemen’s club - truckers are at least honest...lmaof. \n\nThey are either the “stereotypical trucker” or more likely are some of the best, most kind-hearted people who are more willing to help without being asked in a world filled with people always looking out for themselves. \n\nAnd I think having our own social media outlet will bring these true heroes to light as well as point out, truckers are who really keeps this country going and it only takes going out OTR for one trip to realize this. They are the unsung heroes of this capitalist nation! And dammit, we need our own “Facebook”😜🤔🤗","replyToPid":0}
