Citizens merging onto freeways

{"text":"Ok… I can’t be the only one that gets annoyed and irritated by citizens who have zero guts to “peddle to the metal” to beat us truckers. Do they not understand their “electric vehicle” can smoke us in 2 seconds? It’s an understatement truly. Am I the only one that gets annoyed with the simple fact they just won’t just floor it to get in front of me? Let me get your guys’ opinions on this. I try to change lanes to allow them to merge with ease but sometimes it just isn’t possible, I hate when I have to step on the breaks to avoid a collision because they don’t know how to drive!","replyToPid":0}

","text":"Personally I think this falls on the state/local governments- where they have the merge area so small and such a short range, that no one is going to take that 25 ft to jump onto the intersection. They need to make the merged stretch for at least 1/4 a mile at every merge ramp. That will defeat these people from getting “scared”. Or, all the newbie pedestrians that just got their license, they have to get in a semi truck 8 hours (8 days, 1 hr per day) so they get the feel of what we go through. Which would’ve managed by the DMVs. Then they can see how long it takes for a truck to actually get going. Because I think the majority of the people are clueless. They simply don’t know. All they do is buy, go figure."}
