HotHands On Ambient Air Temp Sensor To Keep Idling

{"text":"I drive a 2020 Volvo with the green Volvo engine. I don’t know what model VNL it is. There are no badges or stickers that I can find anywhere on the tractor. Not on the doors or anywhere. Anyway, sometimes I need to idle the truck longer than a freakin minute or two for things like cooking or recharging the batteries to keep the refrigerator going after sitting for a day or so. I’m sick of having to constantly push the pedal with a stick to keep it going. I even tried wedging a stick between the pedal and the seat to keep the RPM’s up just a little. The damn thing STILL shuts off. Sooooo…my idea is to wrap a HotHands hand warmer around the ambient air temp sensor. Anyone tried this yet? Thoughts? And, where is this sensor? {"replyTo":"","text":"What I would recommend is you buy some 2 way velcro along with a case of those handwarmers. Place one layer of velcro on the sensor and follow up with the hand warmer. Then you seal the heat with the other velcro. I talked to a guy who's been driving for 40 years and that's what he recommended for me. He had about 800 hours of idling using this method, granted it was for emergency use if his bunk heater decided to work. He mainly used the method for cooking so it checks out.","replyToPid":0}
