But In the military, if you know an area is under the threat of possible invasion, you limit resources in that area, your enemy sees as valuable to their attempted occupation. If intelligence believes Russia/China are thinking about attempting a land based attack on the US, limiting diesel, which runs nearly all warfare equipment, and then spreading that information on social media, could act as a deterrent.
