Lease deadhead miles

{"text":"I get a total of 500000 miles on my lease. I know a lot of people don’t like lease. Bear with me. What’s a good amount of deadhead? I feel like I have too much. Almost every time I go home I do from Detroit to Lake Michigan and back again and many times back with a trailer to mid Michigan.  So the entire state of Michigan east to west to east plus some. I’ve gone home from as far away as Fort Wayne. 500k miles includes any personal use. Straight 500k. I really do try and minimize my drive it around stuff best I can. Vegas is a weak market for flatbed loads, unless you want to haul drywall, which pays very low rates. So, I used to deadhead a lot to Phoenix or SLC for my first load. But, the soaring cost of fuel changed that and, I haul a load of drywall to Phoenix now.","replyToPid":0}

{"replyTo":"","text":"As an O/O I average about 200-300 miles a week deadhead running the spot market.  Companies with dedicated freight may run less.  In leasing a truck thru a company dh is very important because it can cut into your bottom line,  especially with these high fuel prices...so in leasing, it's important to select the right company to work for and high amount of dh isn't it.  Maybe a better dispatcher may help....good luck.","replyToPid":0}
