{"replyTo":"","text":"You're an o/o and you dont know? You aren't in compliance with DOT regulations.\n\nThe drug consortium is how owner operators get drug tested. You pay a 3rd party company to enroll you, and in my case, the consortium randomly pulls drivers from their \"pool\" to be sent for drug testing quarterly. They report directly to the DOT. Most companies just handle the driver drug testing requirements themselves but this is how it's done for o/o. \n\nThe clearinghouse is a government database that tracks drivers drug tests. Meaning if you fail a drug test with one company and get fired, every other company will know about it thus preventing a driver from just finding another job with another company who didn't know about the failed test. Every driver needs to be enrolled. \n\nAs a new owner operator, IF you are operating under FMCSA guidelines, which we can assume you are, you will get audited soon usually around the first year mark more or less. The officer will be looking to make sure you are in compliance and will ask for and check everything, like 15 different documents. You are fked for operating without enrollment in a drug consortium, it's a pretty important violation I'd say, since this is considered a safely sensitive job. We can assume you didn't do the start of work drug test either .. you are most likely going to get a huge fine and possibly shut down. \n\nStay classy.","replyToPid":0} |
