{"replyTo":"","text":"There is two different \"safe havens\" : FMCSA Section 397.5 is in regards to Attendance and Surveillance which is what you are referring to about hazmat loads being in a safe place. Then there is also PC (personal conveyance) Safe Haven. This option is when a driver does not have enough hours to find a safe place to park, as long as you park at the FIRST available safe location you find, they are allowed to use this per DOT as long as you follow your company requirements for how to log this usage. Clearly the two could be misunderstood since they contain the same verbiage and could possibly of caused the confusion. Hopefully this helps clear this topic up for anyone who may question it. (not trying to be a smarta** just trying to make sure ppl have the correct information as it seems like seasoned drivers like to misinform newbies). Stay safe y'all 😉","replyToPid":0} |
