1047332 发表于 2021-07-16 03:33:49 Every minute counts toward your daily and for the week to maximize your miles. Try combining your 15 min. of Pretrip/MidTrip/PostTrip times with fueling. Use Toll roads to save time and miles (not money) because the time and miles equal $$$ (cost and benefit) Utilize software for trip planning and routing to ensure your chosen route and any re-route is the fastest way to get to your destination. Consider, speed limits, hills, road conditions, traffic conditions, special events in cities, which are all time-consuming and restrict your daily progress for maximizing miles. Do not have a bad habit of sleeping past your 10-hour break, and keep the 30-minute break tight as well. If a trip is pressed for time then utilize your split sleeper options 8/2 & 7/3 but do not add the 30-minute break also since the 2 or 3 hours will cover it. You can go at least 3 to 4 miles over the posted speed limits without getting a ticket. (Speed = Distance / Time) I hope that will help you a bit.
","text":"Time is money, but not always. Driving fast or always using the toll roads isn’t always necessary and I’d argue that for most people it’s wasteful and hurting your bottomline. Scenarios where it would be necessary to do what you suggest would be running on a dedicated route where you must drive 70 mph or else you won’t make it, but that’s rarely the case for most drivers.","replyToPid":436103}

But, it is still good knowledge for time management when that would be priority over $ consumption. Good call on catching that! 😎👍","replyToPid":436251}

{"replyTo":"","text":"This really depends on your company and how and if they chose your route to any given customer. The shortest route sometimes isn't the best route. it takes less fuel to keep the truck at the same speed than it does from a dead stop or picking up speed. If you have a choice on the route to a customer use the best optimal route, utilize google maps for traffic updates only. Detour any route that will hinder you from rolling. If possible run at night, less traffic. Try stopping less and combine fueling, 30 min dot break and showering at the same time. Chose your fueling stops at locations and times of least traffic it helps save time spent at stop lights.  I'm fortunate enough to work for a company that allows me to decide what route I take. On a good week I can get 3400 to 3600 miles in, given I'll have a 34 in or  miles from the previous week stacked on either way its possible to obtain. Also the speed of your truck will have to be factored in. 65 mph trucks usually get 50 mph maybe 55 mph, at 70 I usually get 60 mph to 64 depending on traffic, hills and route. Maybe this will help you save some drive time.","replyToPid":0}
