{"replyTo":"","text":"Thanks for all the Truckers during this Nat'l Truck Driver Appreciation Week. \n It is Sad yet True that some people have driven on the highways and byways without regard of the truck driver pulling loads for them.\n I have noticed that as well, yet just to clear a few things. I've also noticed that many times they were just trying to help us stay within speed limits. Sometimes to see if we're attentive.\n For some, that may seem as though they're just a nuisance. Yet some silently thank them for keeping us out of a ticket.\n As Professional Drivers, many expect us to be that, yet don't realize that it's very hard to make some of the quota's when Truckers have been downgraded so much.\n Wanting Truckers to be on time, yet governed trucks to 62 mph, then set cruise cont'l to get the other 3 miles per hour to 65, and then press the accelerator pedal three times to get 30 minutes worth of 70 miles per hour throughout their entire 11 hour per day of Driving is unequivocally ludacris since the amount of time to do all that in some situations leaves one wondering why.\n As for the pay, I agree that pay should be increased some. The saying was \" pit the money ware your mouth is \" was coined long ago by the \" old timers \", was part of the union belief as well for a better and fair way of business. Their origins show that they complained( fought ) for better wages and conditions for the worker.\n I stand with yuns on speaking up about concerns and not as complaining.\n I also agree about us recognizing that there exists many ways that \"US\" Truckers is recognized, ( free meals at Petro's and Travel Centers of America's on Special occasions), some Community Signs and Bar-b-cues, Company T-Shirts and goodies add up in money to them when giving it out free.\n Regardless, it's Our Appreciation week, so let's make the best of it.\n Even I donated over 100.00 to the new men and women at my company, and that weeks check I got was only just over 100.00. It may or may not seem tough. Either way, Bless yuns and stay Safe my friends.\n I only have 23.5 years experience, started trucking in the military when I was about 19 years of age, most recent company, I've got 250,000 safe miles with them in just 3.5 years and already earned something called Premier Plus Driver Status.\n If nothing else, just remember that I Appreciate Ya's. Trucker to Trucker . Thanks for all your help, friends to the end !!!","replyToPid":0} |
