984141 发表于 2020-09-08 02:13:31 1.  Sit tight and wait until we find out who wins the election...if Biden somehow wins you definitely will not want to be an o/o once he promptly destroys our economy.\n\n2.  It will cost around 3k to obtain your authority and plates.  Its a long process and will take a very minimum of 1 month to complete, probably longer now with the coronavirus.  You can do it all on your own.\n\n3.  Insurance coverage will be a huge cost and your hardest obstacle for a new DOT, especially depending on your driving record.  If you make it your first year without any claims, you will get a much better rate.\n\n4.  Getting good loads will be difficult with a new DOT and you will often find brokers who will not want dispatch to you.\n\n5.  If you don't have business ownership experience, safest to lease on with an experienced o/o or company and learn the business first.\n\n6.  Make sure you have money saved up and don't take out a bunch of loans to get started, that will doom you.
