I don't know how you can't make money driving on your own in this business. Just like any other business, you have to be smart and you HAVE to treat it like such. If you treat it like a job, you will fail miserably. There is no such thing as 9-5 doing O/O. But you can definitely look into hauling local or OTR doing it. We make $250k a year with 1 truck. After everything is paid for, taxes ect. you could still easily pocket $80-100k/year if you are smart about it.","replyToPid":0}

Find a company that will dispatch you. there are plenty of companies looking for owner operators. the problem is now you have to make yourself work and alot of owner operators end up going out  on the road less. if you are willing to work as much as an owner operator as a company driver, you will make more money. also insurance will drain you. your first couple of years, you're looking at $1300-$2000 per month for insurance. Also there's no reason for buying a 150k dollar truck. my first truck was a 99 Volvo with 1million miles that I bought for 4k( another 6k invested to make it road worthy)","replyToPid":0}

","text":"Thank you Sir. This is my 1st yr as an o/o myself. I worked in the oil & gas for 13 yrs , so I’m not afraid of long hours and hard work , also drove OTR 2 years 2015 & 16. I’m doing fine so far and I know I’ll do much better in a few more month as I gain more experience !!","replyToPid":382913}
