Fuel, avg mpg, antifreeze, oil, repairs, plates and permits, tires, PMs, 5-10¢ per mile maintenance fund... ect , etc, etc.\n- run your company truck as if you own it. That which you don't know what the cost is... Ask company mechanic, truck stop mechanic ect.\n- obviously your figures are going to be off a little, and your wages will show negative (but that's OK for now) your only trying to see what it will cost you.\nYour gonna wanna do this ledger for a year. \n2. DO NOT do a lease purchase.\n3. DO NOT do a lease purchase.\nAlso, during that year, you will be looking for a truck. \n4. Go look at used trucks at dealerships. Look in truckpaper.com\nYour looking for a good truck, preferably not a mega carrier truck, with well under 500k miles.\n4. Do not let the dealership talk you into something you don't want.\n5. Make sure, in writing, you get a 4 year unlimited mileage warranty (adds 5000$ to cost of truck... It's well worth it. Clutch job can cost 2500 easily.)\n** you wanna get a bank financed loan for your \"new\" truck. Dealerships usually help secure this for you.\nAgain, do not settle, salesman is gonna try to get rid of his worst, and whatever he has the most of first. There are literally 1000's of used truck dealerships.\n*** with so so to poor credit your looking at about 1500 - 1600$ a month payments for 4 years on a 70k$ - 80k$ truck.\n\nBank financed truck allows you to take it with you when you change companies.\n\nYou will need a job lined up before the bank will say yes.\nAnd they almost always do.\n\nUsed, under 500k, warranty (no warranty... walk away).\n\nFlatbed / tanker pay the best.\nTry to go with a carrier who hires only owner ops.\n6.
