Any one interested in co-lease/co-buy a truck? I want a flexible work schedule. it is possible if we are our own boss.

{"replyTo":"","text":"i think you guys have the wrong idea about trucking. money is made by rolling and the rates a lease company, insurance premiums, and whatever other fees and or % a carrier you lease to charge you for the \"privilege of operating\" are designed to mitigate the volatile nature of this type of business. if you want to be home and run local/regional you need save $ and purchase a truck not lease. even warranty work and campaigns on a brand new truck require down time that is not reimbursed. my advise is find 3 good mechanics and get a 4-500k mile truck and have 15k minimum in escrow for maintenance prior to starting. carriers where your not booking your own freight dont generally pay out settlements that lead to 3-4k net weekly settlements prior to your own irs liability. and if you think you can live with $1500/wk take home you may as well keep looking for quality w2 work because you still are responsible for your own maintenance which is a variable expense and the tax liabilty is roughly 30% of gross. so if you grossed $4500.. roughly $1350 of that $1500 net settlement is really tax money for the end of the yr.  in trucking do your research and more importantly do your math not once not twice but thrice!","replyToPid":0}
