You can spec out a dozen heavier than minimum configurations on a Freightliner brake system if you want to pay the extra. As far smoking brakes, everyday people do that without a heavy load. You smell it most traffic jams. Under normal running, if it does that, do you want to tag on more weight to test the limits?","replyToPid":0}

In Canada we can legally gross 92000 lbs on a tandem trailer. Never smoked brakes yet. You are so full of it your eyes are brown.

I did my annual MVI. 625000 miles. Original brakes. All were over 1/2. And I haul up to 100000 and mostly around 80000. I’d say you need to learn to brake correctly.

","text":"I never had the problem personally.  I've had a brake line on a trl give and toast a brake a bit before I stopped. Otherwise, quite happy. You know though that people are smoking brakes and flat spotting tires. You are a professional. I am too. Is everybody trained up? The 3 guys I personally knew doing those FEMA runs were ok drivers. Their trucks were marginally maintained like quite a few out here. One smoked on a hard brake at a fast traffic back up. The other two felt the brakes mushing up from overheating. You can say I am wrong all day long because every truck is perfectly maintained and specced out with disc brakes of the highest quality. You can say every driver is perfectly trained and never panic stops or brakes harder than necessary. Ok. Put your families and friends out there in front of 90000# trucks and see if the outcome is happy. Everyone has seen trucks have brake problems. Adding weight isn't safer."}

I run over daily and only smoked breaks once. Right now sitting in line at the truck wash I'm 10,000 over legal limit. But I'm still within my axle limits and this is the lightest load I've had today. Try pulling an end dump we know nothing but heavy in this industry.","replyToPid":0}
