How many months/years did it take you to become confident with your "backing" skills?

{"replyTo":"","text":"In my first year of driving, I hit a flatbed while backing. he was parked 6 feet over the line, and I tapped him so lightly that I wasn't sure if I actually hit him. He came out and was screaming at me so hard that his dentures flew out of his mouth. Kept screaming for me to get out of my truck and fight him like a man. I'm 30 years younger than him, and 100 pounds heavier. If I hit this dude, he'd turn to dust. So he started yelling that he was going to mess with my truck overnight. I left and parked at a rest area.\n\nEver since that happened, my hands shake every time I back up. I doubt I'm ever going to be confident when backing.","replyToPid":0}

","text":"I've been driving for 8 months and finally have my confidence level where I like it.   thought I would never.  Set up is important,  as is concentration.  Also, mentioned previously,  push the trailer where you want it to go,  and follow it with the tractor.   It Will come to you soon.   Just keep getting out and looking when in doubt.","replyToPid":256973}
