{"replyToPid":0,"replyTo":"","text":"I believe the FMCSA now states you must have 6 hours after drinking before you can drive. There are no rules that say you can't drink on a 10 or 34, you just can't have alcohol IN the truck. So could buy and drink before getting in, or drink at a local bar. Your company may have it's own stricter rules though.\n\nKeep in mind that while it is legal to sleep in your truck while drunk, a cop can still try to charge you with a dui if the keys are in the ignition or in your pocket while you are in the truck. They've done it with car drivers claiming it was intent to drive drunk.\n\nIn accordance with the FMCSA, you also can't legally be on duty if there is ANY alcohol in your system so be mindful of how much you drink. If a dot officer finds ANY trace of alcohol in your system you can be put out of service for 10 hours. But it wont be a DUI unless you are over the legal limit."} |
