Getting into leasing/owner op

I am confident with my backing...I am always early & safe...but my money is funny bkuz my loads & miles are lacking bkuz I'm so new..so without having the money to just go get a truck...one would think leasing is the way to get experience in what it takes to be an owner & to make better money..so my question really is...\n\nIs there a certain amount of experience a person should to drive as a company driver before even considering trying to get into leasing side of the business? I’m now back as a company driver. \n\nIn all honesty you do not want to lease or buy a truck right now. All expenses are going up and the rates are staying the same. \n\nRemember you are a contractor when you lease. No benefits no vacation pay no safety bonuses. You pay for everything fuel, truck insurance, maint, parts, hotel rooms, and truck payment. \n\nYou are a new driver so you making very little money per mile. Get your 1 year exp then find a new company that does not train new drivers. They pay a lot more per mile. "}

Anything outside of that reason, in my opinion, is futile. A lease driver is a \"glorified\" company man with a sticker on the door. My contract is up next month and I'm done with leasing from the \"company I work for\". \nAlso, watch your fuel purchase. That's your biggest expense. That and the inflated lease cost 😂 Also, watch how much money your truck makes in a month compared to your cut😂 Compare the costs with a outside lease company and it will blow your mind. Ultimately I realized that they could pay me more if they wanted to. It's a pimp game and you will be the h@3 in the scenario😎","replyToPid":0}

","text":"Yes, though pay attention to the terms of the lease.  Try to get a couple of months ahead so you have some time between pay days.  There are going to be a few weeks with a new company to start making money.","replyToPid":198989}

","text":"Unless you lease from Penske, Lone Mountain, or some other independent leasing company.\n\nAn advantage to leasing over buying is that the total payments are tax deductible.  With a purchase you have to do depreciation.","replyToPid":198877}
