{"text":"Would like to post short story in memory of old friend and fellow trucker. In 1990 a man I had met before I ever stated driving contacted me as well as a lot of other drivers to get us all together if possible at small truck stop ., for his surprise proposal to his girlfriend that traveled with him . Many drivers chose loads with less pay to be there he arranged for drivers to bring her parents .After their dinner as they started to leave Dan got down on one knee and proposed to her if she would marry him , 1 I will put you on a pedestal all the time , 2 Catch the moon and stars and hand them to you , 3 make you erase all the bad memories from your last marriage , 4 will find and hand you forever . The speech and to her surprise only friends family and workers filled the truck stop . There was not a dry eye in the place so romantic like no one had ever heard before the promises so strong , Well Stacey accepted . The unfortunate part 3 weeks later I received a call at home at 3 am another friend that was there and coworker informing me Dan had died in an accident . He as a very good man was cut off by woman with several kids in car hanging out the windows Dan chose to turn right with no hesitation and right over the mountain 300 feet down , the first man there was his coworker which had already called police ambulance but before they arrived Bill heard Dan utter his last words SORRY DEAR PPLEASE FORGIVE ME FOR BREAKING THE PROMISES AND FOR ME MOVE ON WITH YOUR LIFEFFFOR ME HONEY then he died . Today marks the18th anniversary of his death as well as a great lady Stacey. RIP old friend make your selfless actions bring you happiness and joy in heaven and Hope that Stacey is there with you for happiness for eternity . Dan was kind caring man that never passed up anyone broke down or never hesitated to lend a helping hand with your load !!\n\n","videos":"[]","link":"{}","pics":"[]","canComment":true}
