Let’s share our bad trucking school stories.

{"text":"stay away from C. R. England schools like premier trucking in Dallas. Don’t get paid during training. Get put up in a bed bug infested hotel with the floor falling through (though it is next to the parole office if your into that sort of thing 🤣) you’ll get maybe 5 minutes total each day in a truck on the backing range.(because they have too many students all waiting to get a chance to work on the maneuvers). They only teach the 3 you need to get the cdl. Not 90s and not 45s. Driving the truck you only get half a week but only an hour each day. Then you’re stuck on the backing range until you get to take the skills portion. And then to top it all off they try to get you to sign a 1 year contract to work for them. And tell you stupid **** like if you hit a curb at the shipper/receiver they’ll fire you. over all I’d say I had maybe 4 hours total behind the wheel of a truck when I got my cdl. The instructors on the backing range were great but the driving instructor at least the one I had was a complete ***, to the other two students in the truck. {"replyTo":"","text":"It was about the same in The Main Terminal in Salt Lake City, UT back then it was 6 months for Military Veterans and I believe 9 Months for every one else. I only had to do the 6 months but left after 8 months, Always had problems with receiving the correct pay amount every week, Even one time they claimed my pay was -$38.00 they would always tell they made a mistake and forgot to add  things like the correct trip miles, Trips, Trailer washouts and Lumper fees ect. And to boot we were paid $61.00 per day for 11 hr. shifts while in phase 1&2 that's why they were sued, I had to teach myself how to back, My trainer only let me back twice, But one good thing he did teach me is to run hard. 👍","replyToPid":0}

","text":"True. I came into this lifestyle with a lot of good habits off the bat in my opinion. I have a lot of family in trucking and have regularly heeded their advice on what not to do and tricks to help things go smoother. ","replyToPid":159981}
