Brokers are just like a Uber or Lift app. They make the connections to people who don't have connections with everybody everywhere. You pretty much limit yourself to where you can go. But you can talk to shippers and run constant lanes with them. And when they try changing the price you will have to set yourself up with another company. When you take this route they may take 30 days to pay you. Some brokers can factor the debt of the shipper so you can get paid in 2 or 3 days. It's basically  like a rapid tax return. They get a percentage of your money for settling the debt and they collect the full check from the shipper. But you can hire a factoring company to do that also but you'll still have that middleman Unless you wait 30 days to get your money. And sometimes they can take longer. I'm sure if you search YouTube you'll be able to find a video from somebody that can tell you better than I can.
