{"replyTo":"","text":"just because that's what it took for you doesn't mean everyone else needs 240 hours.\n\nI went to the DMV took all the permit test back to back maybe took an hour. spent a day riding with an owner operator friend of mine to get the basics. went and got my class A the easy way took about two hours. found a very small local company that was willing to give me a shot. road with another driver for two day and on the third I was on my own. really doesn't have to be that complicated","replyToPid":0}

{"replyTo":"","text":"class A leasing in Minneapolis does something similar. cost $213.00 when I did it 8 years ago last I heard it was considerably more expensive now. but I still recommend it to anyone who asks me. makes going from a permit to a CDL a lot easier when you're doing it on your own and don't have the option to practice drive someone else's truck.","replyToPid":0}

The school I went to was 2 months first 2 weeks they would give us files to study to pass the permits and endorsements week 3,4,5 memorizing all the truck parts for pre trip inspection, learning how to clutch properly. week 6,7 learning how to park week 8 on driving on streets highways day and night wit and without traffic. All totals out to 240 hours 6 hours a day 5 days a week "}
{"replyTo":"","text":"I went to the kllm academy week 1 we went over the the book and took our permit test week 2-3we did pretrip inspections every day. worked on our backing, drove on the road, took a mapping and logbook class. and in week 4 we took our cdl test. after that if we took a job with KLLM we had to do 6 weeks of riding with a trainer and then we got a truck and could drive on our own.","replyToPid":0}
