{"text":"Illinois lawmakers have passed a $45 billion infrastructure improvement plan that includes provisions to increase the fuel tax rate and repeal the sales tax on truck license plates.\n\n\nGov. Jay “J.B.” Pritzker announced June 2 that the legislative session had ended with a number of new laws and approved plans, including Rebuild Illinois. Presented to lawmakers May 17, Rebuild Illinois outlines investments in roads, bridges, transit, education, state parks, historic sites and clean water infrastructure.\n\n\nUnder the plan, the fuel tax rate will double to 38 cents per gallon for diesel and gas from 19 cents per gallon.
