Looking for advice on the best route

{"text":"We are leaving Lexington Kentucky and going to Royston, Georgia, on Saturday, Dec 7th. Someone suggested 75 south into Knoxville, then hit I-40, (which I want to make sure it's open as I don't know exit numbers or miles for this route he recommended). Then 81 to 26 to 85. I was just wondering if that's a good route as this app tells me to get off twice and onto US25 (which might be crazy with holiday traffic)? We are hauling horses with a 31' trailer and a 4 door 8 ft bed dually truck. I've made the trip before (2 years ago before the hurricane), but Google maps took me through the mountains on a scenic drive, and it was awful.","videos":"[]","link":"{}","pics":"[]","canComment":true,"externalShare":false}

{"replyTo":"","text":"To the best of my knowledge and according to Google maps, I40 is still closed east of Knoxville.  It will be for a while. The roadbed is washed out. \n\nIf you want interstate most of the way it looks like you're choices are north to I26 or south thru Atlanta on I75.\n\nAll other reasonable routes fall into the \"scenic mountains\" category.","replyToPid":0}
