{"replyTo":"","text":"Basically same as it is for US drivers/carriers entering Canada. A US carrier can pick up a load in Canada but cannot deliver it to a destination in Canada. Same for Canadians. Can't pick up a load in the states and deliver it within the US. It's destination has to be in Canada.  Years and years ago US-based  JB Hunt got caught delivering loads in Canada they were also picking up in Canada. Major sh*t  hit the fan over that and since Canadian Truckers were on strike at the time, there was violence against JB Hunt drivers once word spread of Hunt's intra-country shenanigans. It didn't help either that Hunt drivers were crossing picket lines to pick up loads to the US and delivering loads from the US. And before anyone tries to correct me here, yes, this was a time before Hunt set up Canadian operations with a Canadian authority specifically to operate as a Canadian division of JB Hunt which then made it legal to pick up and deliver within Canada ONLY for the Canadian division.","replyToPid":0}

","text":"Dual citizenship regarding the driver has nothing to do with it. Neither Canadian or American drivers need duel citizenship to enter either country. Just a Valid passport if you're American to be able to get back into the US. It has everything to do with operating authority and which country you (as an O/O) or carrier are domiciled in. The same carrier can have operating authority in both countries as a domiciled carrier in either country, not just have the licensing to travel and conduct cross-border commerce between the two. But most carriers are not domiciled in both countries. But a driver can still deliver freight from their home country to the host country if their vehicles have the necessary permits to drive in the host country. Assuming, of course, that the load is bonded if not clearing customs at the border itself. But from what I hear, en-route bonding requirements are not as common anymore. Customs freight clearing is mostly taking place at the Customs compounds near each POE on the Canadian side when delivering in Canada."}
