If you’re looking to shoot skip or talk with local base stations. You will need something a little more. I Personally use a RCI/ Ranger 69vhp. Clean audio and a bit more power. But still low enough energy draw that it can be used with regular power hookups in your truck. But the most important part is the antenna system. Make sure it is tuned for your truck.
