$ how much you really make?

I want to be fair and I know that all the ads for drivers don’t mean a thing. They can put whatever they want on their websites, like $0.90/mile for a company driver home every week! But, they fail to mention you are only doing 1200 miles/week and they only get you home for 34 hrs, and you have to unload your trailer, etc. So my question it to all the solo company drivers, what are you actually bringing home a week? Or per mile with a typical weeks mileage? Please mention if you are not running a full 7 days or if you get benefits like health insurance. (Please be real, not what you wish. {"replyTo":"","text":"I get paid actual odometer miles at .50 cpm I am usually on the road 6-10 days out I get paid as soon I have no benefits other than cash bonuses I usually have I pick and drop but get an additional $50. for extra pick and drops I also get $100. per night Layover pay, my truck is not governed and I am out of L.A. Cali running West to East I ave about 700 miles per shift so about $350. per shift I get paid a $1500. min for running round trip from So Cali to WA plus my pick and drops I get paid as I return and I turn in my Paperwork I can have as much home time as I like within reason. ","text":"Sure, but what if now I told you it was daily picking up in RI going to NY City, 9 stops all of which you have to unload. Still sound good? I don’t think so. For me I wouldn’t do it for $1000/day. This is the type of stuff you run into. Like even on the job board post on here, overloaded with Schneider. Why? Honest driver, It's just as hard to find a hardworking Honest Boss, You most likely are going to hire and fire a few before you find the one your looking for, These are the things that I start off with I ask what is your truck governed at, How much do you pay, Do you pay off the actual off the odometer, Detention & Layover pay, When and how am I paid, How long am I expected to be out, Home time. What Equipment will I be driving. Any answer that is not what I'm looking for is a deal breaker, So the truck has to be Gov. at 70 min, paid Actual odometer miles, Get paid upon return, Cash or check, Home and out time less than 12 home time at least 2 full days, I won't even go to fill out an app. if it's all good then I come in but want to see the Equipment, I've found out you can tell a lot about a driver in the way he keeps the truck that he is driving, Exactly like you can tell a lot about a company or owner the way he maintains his truck. Sorry I didn't mean to write a novel. just trying to help just keep in mind in any relationship if you can't trust the other person or Visa versa it's not worth the relationship.","replyToPid":61939}

","text":"if u pay them a percentage either 22 to 30* it gives them incentive to work harder plus the more he makes the more u make, and if u can keep them happy they will stick with u, a good rule of thumb is about half the profit after expense","replyToPid":61841}

","text":"I agree, even with great rates idk how you’d pay your bills I as an o/o don’t even take home 45% after all expenses. If someone is getting paid that they are probably then having to pay for something on the expense side. Like fuel or making a payment on the truck.","replyToPid":61995}

","text":"I know if you are local you get paid every week which was cool but too pay is after tax 800/wk Otr makes 3 x that per trip which can last weeks there is a grind and a hustle but if you work for someone you won’t make what the money you want unless you like that sort of thing","replyToPid":61844}
