Does Uber mess up HOS?

Regardless of it being a driving job or working at McDonalds.  The people saying you don't have to log it have no clue what they are saying. Any work that a driver is compensated for, even if it is not driving or a second job, counts against our  hours of service, and is supposed to be logged.
