Purchased Used Semi Truck from USA and want to take it to Canada.

{"text":"Hello there, So, I recently purchased a used 2018 Freightliner Cascadia in California and want to drive through Cali, Oregon, Washington State upto Peace Arch Border and enter British Columbia. So, the question is their any temporary permits i have to take from each state? If yes then which one? One of my known friend told me you can drive the truck with signs saying “Private Use-Not For Hire” as I won’t be pulling any trailer with it. It would be a bobtail only and I don’t have to go through Weigh Stations or maintain a log book.\nI won’t be having registration for the truck just the bill of sale but i would have the insurance with the VIN number of the truck. {"replyTo":"","text":"Private use not for hire means absolutely nothing….you need a temporary IRP, you’ll have to buy a trip permit from each state to pay the IFTA for each jurisdiction you pass through, and your insurance. Not to mention DOT number on the truck, there is a 7 day provision if your ELD brakes. I would say it’s broken for the trip.","replyToPid":0}

NM scale all check the paperwork and go with the same world  until you put any company credentials on it or IRP its private vehicle as yours family car....
